About Lauren Voiers

laurencostshowLauren Voiers is a self-taught, Cleveland, Ohio-based visual artist and painter, who, at the young age of 19, has established herself as an internationally recognized artist. She combines her rare talent, inventiveness and life experiences to create original artwork that transcends time and cultures, and garners universal appeal.

Recognized as an art prodigy since she was in grade school, Lauren expresses peace and harmony in a chaotic world through the vibrant, abstract blend of images, colors and symbolism. These works are a true reflection of Lauren's life views and experiences, having overcome the challenges of bipolar disorder at a young age to become a distinguished and highly prolific artist. Her interests in music have provided inspiration for her work from a young age.

Lauren's most high-profile work to date, the Peace & Harmony sculpture, in honor of John Lennon, will be unveiled in October 2010, in Liverpool, England. A derivative work of her original Peace and Harmony painting, the Peace & Harmony monument was inspired by Lauren's musical influences, including that of John Lennon and the Beatles. This latest work on the monument has taken her around the world as part of the October 9th unveiling events.

As a mark of the true impact of Lauren's work on Peace & Harmony, John Lennon's son, Julian Lennon, personally requested that she incorporate a white feather within the design of the monument, as a symbol of John Lennon's spirit and of world peace. Julian will be unveiling the monument in observance of the 30th anniversary of his father's death, and what would have been his 70th birthday. The monument will be permanently installed in Liverpool and is expected to become one of the most highly visited tourist attractions in the United Kingdom.
